FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Straight answers to what we hear most from business leaders.

We're not a tech company. Can AI still work for us?

Yes. The highest ROI from AI is typically in non-tech businesses where manual processes are consuming valuable human time. Professional services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and real estate are among the industries seeing the fastest payback.

Do we need an AI agent, or is automation enough?

Most businesses need automation, not an AI agent.

Automation is a rule you set once. When X happens, do Y. A form gets filled out, an email goes to sales. It runs forever, costs almost nothing, and does exactly what you told it to. If you want AI to write the email, that works too. It's still automation with an AI step in the middle. The steps are yours.

An AI agent is different. Instead of following steps you wrote, it picks the steps itself each time. But "picks" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. These tools were built by scraping huge amounts of text off the internet, and the core assumption is that if something is said one way more often than another, that must be the right way. So the agent's "decision" is really just whichever answer showed up most often in what it read. Popularity standing in for accuracy.

That doesn't make them useless. It makes them a tool with a specific shape. They work well on generic, mainstream work where "average" is the right answer. They struggle with anything specific to your business, because your business is the part that shouldn't be average. What looks like judgment is a popularity contest underneath.

Where an agent fits

The job has no fixed steps and the cost of occasional wrong guesses is low.

  • Summarizing a pile of customer feedback
  • Drafting first-pass copy
  • Working through open-ended questions

How to choose

If you can write down the steps, you want automation. If you can't, the real question isn't whether you need an agent. It's whether you're comfortable letting the most common answer on the internet decide for you. For most businesses, the honest answer is "only for the parts where average is good enough."

Is our data safe when using AI?

It depends entirely on how AI is deployed. Consumer AI tools like free ChatGPT offer no data protection guarantees. We deploy AI using enterprise-grade, private cloud environments where your data is encrypted, never used for model training, and never shared. Every solution includes data masking, access controls, and audit trails. We address data security before writing a single line of code.

What is shadow AI and should I be worried about it?

Shadow AI is the use of unsanctioned AI tools by employees without IT or management knowledge. Cyberhaven's 2026 AI Adoption & Risk Report found that 39.7% of all AI interactions involve sensitive data and roughly a third of employees access AI tools through personal accounts. IBM's 2025 Cost of a Data Breach Report flagged that 20% of organizations have experienced breaches directly linked to shadow AI. Yes, you should be concerned. We help you detect shadow AI usage, implement governance policies, and provide your team with approved tools that are both useful and secure.

What does an AI agent actually do?

An AI agent is software that can independently perform multi-step tasks. Unlike simple chatbots, agents can access your systems, pull data, make decisions based on rules you set, and execute workflows. An agent might handle customer inquiries end-to-end, process incoming invoices, or manage appointment scheduling. Think of it as a digital team member that handles repeatable work around the clock.
