Vulnerability assessment.

A point-in-time look at where your real risk is.

20% of small and mid-size business breaches now start with vulnerability exploitation, a 34% year-over-year increase. Attackers are going straight for the weak spots. New vulnerabilities are discovered daily and attackers move fast to exploit them. Without a systematic look at your environment, you're playing defense blind. Verizon DBIR 2025, SMB Snapshot

What's included

Network and infrastructure scanning.

Automated scans of internal network assets, external-facing systems, and cloud environments. Scanning for missing patches, misconfigurations, default credentials, open ports, and services that should not be exposed. External scans map your public attack surface the way an adversary would see it.

Authenticated scans.

Where possible, we run credentialed scans that log into systems for deeper visibility. Unauthenticated scans miss a significant percentage of vulnerabilities because they can't see what's running behind a login prompt. Authenticated scanning reveals missing application patches, local configuration weaknesses, and software inventory data that surface scans can't reach.

Application-layer scanning.

Optional scanning of web applications and APIs for common vulnerability classes including injection flaws, broken authentication, misconfigured security headers, exposed endpoints, and sensitive data in responses. For organizations running AI-powered applications, we also test for prompt injection vectors and endpoints that pass user input directly to AI backends without validation.

Risk prioritization.

Findings ranked by actual business impact, not raw severity scores. A critical vulnerability on an isolated test server is lower priority than a medium finding on your internet-facing payment system. We factor in exploitability, asset value, network exposure, and whether known exploit code exists in the wild. The result is a remediation list your team can work through in order of real risk.

Remediation plan.

Each finding includes a recommended fix, the effort level, a suggested owner, and a timeline. Related findings get grouped into remediation projects where one change addresses multiple vulnerabilities at once. The plan is designed to be handed directly to your IT team or managed service provider for execution.

Edge devices and VPNs are now targeted in 22% of exploitation incidents, up from 3%. If you haven't audited your perimeter recently, it's the most likely way in. Verizon DBIR 2025, SMB Snapshot

The shape of this engagement

This is a vulnerability assessment engagement. You get a clear snapshot of your current exposure and a prioritized remediation plan. If you want it run monthly, quarterly, or on another cadence, we can structure it that way.

We identify vulnerabilities and assess their risk. We do not perform exploitation or adversary simulation in this engagement, but if a penetration test is what you need, we can scope one separately.
